Top Ten Reasons We Love Being Bloggers & Readers

February 18, 2014 by Jaime Leave a Comment

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the awesome and wonderful people over at The Broke and The Bookish
I think I’m going to split this up a bit and give you a bit from both categories … But I want to start with What We Love About Being Bloggers!

What We Love About Being Bloggers

ARCs – I’m sorry but It has to be said… it’s one of the best perks about blogging and I love it.  Having access to early copies of books and having the opportunity to flail around yelling about how much we loved it… it’s the best.

Which leads me to the second best thing about being a blogger …. FANGIRLING – Going on and on and on about a book or a series and having someone, even if it’s just one person, pick up the book based on our review.  This blog gives us a place to do that and I love having that outlet.

Attending Book Conventions – Getting the opportunity to attend events like BEA and ALA are highlights of my last year in blogging and we honestly had such an amazing time at both events.  Meeting the people who we’ve chatted with via email was so wonderful!

But then there is also Attending  Bookish Events. I have to be honest, I never really knew about any of these kinds of events in my area and I was seriously missing out.  I love going to author events and getting the opportunity to chat with people I never thought I would.  And honestly, more stuff happens around here than I ever would have thought!

Bookish Friends – I have met some of the most amazing people through the blog and I’m not just talking about people I chat with online … I’m talking about people who will be in my life for the rest of my years.  But not only that, it’s so much fun to find and bond with people who love reading as much as we do!!

This one also has to be said… I’ve had the opportunity to work some amazing publishers and publicists along the way.  They make doing this fun and while it still is a lot of work, they make it so much easier because they are fun to work with and just plain wonderful!
What We Love About Being Readers

We love being readers because it allows us the opportunity to live in a world we would otherwise never experience!

We love being readers because we will always have something to do… I mean seriously have you seen our ‘to be read’ piles?  I should be busy for the next 3 years!

We love reading because we live stressful lives… we have a million things going on and taking the opportunity to just step away from it for an hour or two is the best stress-reliever I can think of.

We love reading because we love to flail and fangirl and I can’t think of anything better than finding perfect book boyfriends and figuring out who you’re going to ship in a fictional relationship.

We love reading… because it’s fun.

okay… so it came out to a top 11 but I’m totally okay with this!

So tell us in the comments, If you’re a blogger why do you love it and if you’re a reader why do you love it??
