22535694Flirting With Scandal

Jackie Gardner knows all about dirty little secrets. The illegitimate daughter of one of the most influential senators in Washington, D.C., she grew up surrounded by the scandals and shadows of politics. Now that she’s landed an internship with a powerful political consulting firm, she’s determined to launch her career and take this city by storm.

William Andrew Clayton was born for politics. He knows the drill: work hard, play discreetly, and at all costs, avoid scandal. At twenty-six, his campaign for the Virginia State Senate is the first step to cementing his future. It’s time for him to settle down, to find the perfect political spouse. He needs a Jackie Kennedy, not a Marilyn…

When Jackie meets Will in the bar of the Hay-Adams Hotel, sparks fly. But the last thing Will needs is to be caught in a compromising position, and an affair with a political candidate could cost Jackie her career. When what began as one steamy night, becomes a passion neither one of them can walk way from, they must decide if what they have is really love, or just another dirty little secret…

Playing With Trouble22873151

The daughter of one of the Senate’s most powerful figures, Blair Reynolds was ready to become the ultimate political wife—until she caught her fiancé cheating on her wedding day. Law school is a fresh start, her shot at putting the pieces of her life back together. That’s the plan, at least. Until trouble comes in the form of her Torts professor, the man whose arrogance infuriates her in class but haunts her private fantasies.

Graydon Canter had a fortune and a place on all the hottest “Thirty under Thirty” lists, until a series of personal missteps nearly destroyed his career. A year teaching at a D.C. law school is just the break he needs to get his life back in order, as long as nothing—and no one—trips him up.

When Blair and Gray are forced to work together, their explosive attraction becomes impossible to resist. But Gray’s demons have drawn him dangerously close to the edge, and Blair has spent her life playing by the rules. Will she break them for a shot at love?

22873160Falling For Danger

Kate Reynolds has just graduated from college and is determined to make it on her own. Her job as a junior political analyst at the CIA is a dream come true and the perfect opportunity to find answers about the night that’s plagued her for four years—the night she lost her fiancé, Matt, on a Special Forces mission in Afghanistan. Kate’s consumed with uncovering the truth and avenging the man she loved and lost, even if it means risking her own life to prove that his death wasn’t an accident.

When she gets too close to discovering what happened that fateful night and danger arrives on her doorstep, Kate’s stunned by the man who comes to her rescue. Together, they begin to dig for the truth, fighting to stay alive as they’re dragged down into a world of secrets and lies. But when the threat hits close to home, Kate must choose between vengeance and a future with the man who’s ignited a fire inside her that she thought died long ago.

As you might have noticed I’m still bingeing on Chanel Cleeton and this series just might be my favorite yet.  If you’re tired of the political drama happening in real life, then dive into these books because while there is some major political drama here, the love stories are just so swoony and wonderful.

If I had to pick a favorite of the three it would definitely be book one.  Will Clayton will have you swooning like you can’t even imagine.  He’s the best of guys and he doesn’t apologize for that, and in a town like Washington DC where politicians are dirty, he’s trying to make a name for himself in a race for a senate seat.  He never expected to fall for the illegitimate daughter of one of the most powerful men in Washington.  Jackie has grown up in this city and just can’t seem to resist the draw of Will… he’s everything she never could have expected and she finds she can’t deny her feelings for him and it’s perfection!

In book two we meet Blair Reynolds and learn more about the powerful Reynolds family.  I really liked Blair and really enjoyed seeing her relationship develop with Gray… of course everything isn’t quite perfect and the political machine that is DC causes some major problems for them, but Gray too has got some major game despite all his baggage.  He’ll have you swooning in no time!

Book three is all about Kate Reynolds.  She’s been estranged from her family for four years because she’s convinced her father has had something to do with the death of her fiance while he was in Afghanistan.  But of course some things are even worse than she could have imagined and she’s determined to find out the truth about what happened even if that means exposing her father for who he really is.

Cleeton does a pretty amazing job of tying the books together through the three sisters and I really enjoyed watching the bonds between them build from book to book.  They were all three strong in their own ways and I really loved that they were smart and resourceful and despite the situations they faced, they may have not come out unscathed but they made the best of what they were left with.

As I mentioned the guys were seriously crush worthy and I dare you to read these and not fall in love with them along the way.  If you’re looking for some romance with your political intrigue then you’re really going to enjoy these stories.

I think book three was my least favorite… while I thought the story itself was well done, the characters just weren’t my favorite.  I liked them, but I didn’t love them, but you definitely don’t want to miss it because it wraps up the three books in just a wonderful way! With glimpses of Blair, Jackie and yes even the guys, I think you’ll really enjoy the way this series ends.

If you’re looking for a contemporary romance series that is complete and wonderful and sexy then look no further, Cleeton has definitely become a new favorite in the genre and I am looking forward to whatever she decides to write next!
