I loved this book.
I had it on my to read list and sitting on my ipad for quite a while before I decided to just dive in. I’m on the fence about angel books because they all seem to be kinda the same lately… but not this one. Not at all.
There is no slow start to this book… we immediately are thrust into a world where Angels have brought the apocalypse to the human world, and the few humans who are still alive are barely surviving.
Penryn’s sister is captured by angels and she is bound and determined to get her back. She’ll do whatever it takes, even if it means helping an angel.
Penryn is wonderful. She’s fierce and strong, and capable and strong and smart and strong! 🙂 got that… I love a strong female character. Plus she pretty much kicks ass.
Raffe is the angel she has to tie herself to in order to rescue her sister and I loved him. He’s charming and enigmatic, ruthless and violent .. such a wonderful combination!
The world that Ee has created here is scary wonderful and the characters really made this book for me. The dialogue was wonderful too and I found myself, even with the seriousness of the story, chuckling a bit at some of it.
You can see the relationship building between Penryn and Raffe … but I am also worried a bit about the future for them. That being said, these two aren’t instantly in love when they meet, in fact it’s just the opposite, barely tolerating each other.
I can’t wait for the next book in the series, I’m hoping we get more info on the stuff that happens at the end of book 1 LMAO – sorry I had to leave it vague there so I don’t ruin it for anyone, but know this… a lot of crap goes down and I WANT TO KNOW MORE!
Run and get this book you won’t be disappointed. (yes… even you people who don’t like books about angels. this one is different!! )
