Crown of Midnight – We will most likely never stop talking about how much we love the Throne of Glass series. Â Crown of Midnight brought us back into Celaena’s world of danger and of course, Chaol made it that much better.
Scarlet – Cinder was great. This was definitely one of our favorites and somehow
Marissa Meyer wrote an even better (that’s right, I said it) story with Scarlet. Â She introduced us to new characters (Everyone by now knows that I love, love, love Carstairs Thorne, right) and wove the stories together so well it made us want more.
Through the Ever Night – here’s where I tell you a secret… Under The Never Sky wasn’t my favorite. I had a lot of questions and concerns when I finished reading it, and even though I loved the characters I needed more. THEN I read Through the Ever Night and fell absolutely in love… Like top 5 best follow up books ever. The plot development, the
characters, the arc of the story were all just wonderfully done and I can’t wait to go back and read the books back to back to back.Â
The Eternity Cure – Julie Kagawa is an evil genius. Â We have no words for how she managed to rip our hearts out…again. Â Old characters are back and Allie has to face some things about herself that she really struggles with. Â Trust us when we say the next book is either going to kill us or make us cry.
Star Cursed – This series is one of those that sneaks up on you. Â We really loved Born Wicked but OMG – Jessica Spotswood came out swinging with book 2. Â Cate is a strong character that struggles with finding the balance between protecting those she loves and being ok with getting the things she wants out of life. Â There are so many great things about this book and we can’t believe we have to wait until 2014 to read the next one.
Siege & Storm – UGH THIS BOOK – I was actually just rereading parts of it
because we were talking about our favorite fantasy book boys (podcast coming soon) and of course Mal was on the list, but also the introduction of Sturmhond in this book was genius and I’m dying to get my hands on book three!Â
Never Fade – When I finished The Darkest Minds I may have cursed Alexandra Bracken a little bit….nothing mean but the ending on that book was one that made me cry and wonder what the heck was going to happen. Â Well, book 2 is just as good and we can’t say anything about anything since we don’t want to give anything away.
The Crown of Embers/The Bitter Kingdom – I included both of these books
because I enjoyed each of them just a little bit more than the last one. Â The Girl of Fire and Thorns trilogy is one that as I continued reading, I became more and more invested in the characters and the story and by the time Rae Carson wrapped up this series, I realized just how much I was going to miss it all.
Breaking Point – I love this series and I’m eagerly awaiting book three to see how things wrap up, but I thought Breaking Point was the perfect follow up to Article 5. We got to know Ember and Chase so much better and the character growth both individually and together were so well done. Â Â
The Dream Thieves – More Ronan, More Gansey, More Adam, More Noah, More Blue – Perfection. Â
NOW – we are sure we missed some so take some time to tell us in the comments what you think are the best sequels out there.
