Top Ten Authors Who Deserve More Recognition!!!

July 16, 2013 by Jaime Leave a Comment

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the awesome and wonderful people over at The Broke and The Bookish

This Tuesday we are looking at the authors that we think deserve more recognition!! Everyone knows who J.K. Rowling is or Veronica Roth or Suzanne Collins… But I bet you all have at least one author on your favorites list that you wish more people would check out! Those authors who you adore and think are amazing, but they aren’t big, ginormous names yet!!

1. Paula Weston
I special ordered Paula’s books from Australia simply because I couldn’t stand the wait for them to be released here in the US.

2. Trisha Leigh
This series quickly moved to the top of my list – Trisha tells an amazing story and I can’t tell you all how much you need to pick these up if you haven’t yet!

3. Tellulah Darling
Tellulah writes amazingly funny and relateable characters that you must read!  Sam Cruz is an absolute favorite of mine! Check out the trailer then go get the book!

4. Kit Rocha
I mean… these ladies rock my world, and while I know their stuff isn’t for everyone, I still want everyone  to read it LOL  – Because it’s soooooo good!!

5. Lyla Payne
You guys!! I heart Lyla Payne, and she has written some amazing NA and she’s one reason I keep going back for more! If you haven’t read her Whitman University books get to it!!

6. Ruthie Knox
We love Ruthie’s stories.  She knows how to write a sexy, swoony guy (Hello NEV) and great female leads.  If you are looking for a great romance novel, definitely check out anything (yes, anything) by Ruthie. She doesn’t disappoint.

7. Tracey Garvis Graves
Tracey is another favorite author of ours and has gained a lot of support from her book On the Island.  Not only do we love that book but she has also written some other great/wonderful books that we hope everyone will love just as much.  On top of all of that,  she is such a lovely person and we can’t help but want everyone to read her books.  She tells stories that are true to life and cover topics that aren’t always easy to consider.

8. Kristen Simmons
You may recall that we really love Dystopian.  In the Article 5 series Kristen has created an amazing world with a compelling story that will have you glued to your seat turning page after page simply because you HAVE to know what is going to happen next.

9. Ann Aguirre
Ann Aguirre’s post apocalyptic Razorland series is one of my favorite zombie series to date.  As you may or may not know, I appreciate a good horror/zombie book and this one does such a great job of creating solid characters and developing a world that pulls you in and keeps you turning the pages to see what the heck will happen next.  Aguirre has other books and series as well as a fantasy series that she has written with her husband on the way (which, by the way, looks AWESOME).  I don’t know if she needs more recognition or not but in my opinion, this series is definitely one I thought deserved a spotlight.

10. Robin Bridges
Bridges is the author of The Katerina Trilogy which manages to combine fantasy, paranormal, romance and Russian history all into one story.  If that doesn’t interest you, check out this trailer and tell me that you aren’t interested.  I never know what is going to happen next in these books and Bridges is able to build this world that makes me want to know more.

So there you have it…our picks for authors that we feel deserve more recognition.  Definitely check out their books (if you haven’t already) and tell us in the comments if you agree or disagree as well as who else you might consider!
