Review: Hex Hall

April 15, 2012 by Jaime Leave a Comment

Hex Hall
Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I liked this… I found myself laughing throughout the first half of this book .

Think mean girls but for witches, warlocks, faeries, and shapeshifters… Add one vamp and some daemons and you have Hecate Hall or Hex Hall as the students call it.

Sophie is sent to hex hall after attempting a spell for a fellow high school student … It didn’t go quite right. Hex hall is where prodigium are sent to stay until they turn 18. But after she arrives, she finds the girl who she took the place of was attacked and then more attacks continue to happen.

Sophie was snarky and funny and a typical teenage girl… With witchy powers. She was raised in the human world so when she gets to hex hall she can’t even perform a simple blocking spell and she has no,clue who her father is… But everyone else seems to know.

Without giving anything away, this was a fast and entertaining read. I liked Archer… Until I became confused because I shouldn’t still like him right? Lol

I’m looking forward to getting to,the next in the series.

Definitely give the books a read!
