REVIEW: Falling for the Enemy by Samanthe Beck

December 8, 2014 by Jaime Leave a Comment

FALLING FOR THE ENEMY
By: Samanthe Beck
Publication Date: December 1, 2014

Caught between a rock and a rock-hard body…

Salon owner Virginia Boca has declared herself celibate…at least until she wins the election for mayor of Bluelick, Kentucky. No hot men. No sex. And her plan to play the good girl might have worked—if the mysterious, hard-bodied stranger she’s seen around town hadn’t pulled her from the street and saved her life. The least Ginny can do is offer her savior a free haircut. But when an innocent haircut turns into hours of wickedly hot sex, former Navy SEAL Shaun Buchanan knows his plan to keep a low profile is shot. Especially once Ginny finds out he’s the current mayor’s son. With her reputation and the election on the line, Ginny seems determined to keep their nightly sexcapades a secret, but Shaun’s not willing to stay in the shadows forever…

ABOUT SAMANTHE

Wine lover, sleep fanatic, and USA Today Bestselling Author of sexy contemporary romance novels, Samanthe Beck lives in Malibu, California, with her long-suffering but extremely adorable husband and their turbo-son, Hud. Throw in a furry ninja named Kitty and Bebe the trash talking Chihuahua and you get the whole, chaotic picture.
When not clinging to sanity by her fingernails or dreaming up fun, fan-your-cheeks sexy ways to get her characters to happily-ever-afters, she searches for the perfect cabernet to pair with Ambien.

Jaime’s Thoughts
Falling for the Enemy by Samanthe Beck
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

With each and every book I read by Samanthe Beck I fall more and more for her and her writing. She’s an auto-buy for me and Falling for the Enemy has solidified that even more.

Ginny Boca has sworn off men and sex… not even the sexy, hot new man she sees walking around town can change her mind, but when he pulls her off the street, saving her from a crazy driver she can’t help but imagine what it’d be like to get to know him. Instead she offers a free haircut.

Shaun Buchanan’s plan to stay under the radar gets shot to hell when he saves Virgina from getting run down on the street and he certainly didn’t expect his free haircut to turn into a night of amazing sex… but it did. And the fact that he’s the current mayor’s son and Ginny is running against him in the election adds just another complicated layer.

But both Ginny and Shaun aren’t ready to stop meeting each night, and Shaun doesn’t want to be kept a secret forever… only Ginny isn’t sure they can be anything more than what they currently are.

I loved loved loved Ginny. She’s strong and smart and she goes for what she wants. She’s proud of who she is and what she does and she knows she has a lot to offer their little town… she’s not going to just let the current mayor make a fool out of her either.

And Shaun… dear lord. Beck had me at former Navy Seal. I seriously have a thing for military guys and Shaun is a perfect example of why. Strong and alpha and protective, but respectful and polite and willing to do what he has to to take care of those he loves.

These two together were definitely explosive and I really enjoyed getting to know them.

Anything by Samanthe Beck is a must read and this is just another to add to the list! I’m definitely looking forward to anything and everything Beck writes for us next!

Thanks to Entangled for the advance copy in exchange for my honest thoughts!
