Monthly Wrap Up: June

June is officially over. I feel like I say this every month but boy, did this month fly by! We had a great time at ALA (see below for some pictures) and have been trying to stay on top of or ahead of our reading goals for the year. We have some family stuff coming up in July and I’m pretty excited we are closer to seeing Hamilton again!! Check out what we’ve been up to and let us know how your summer is going in the comments!

Renee Ahdieh – Smoke in the Sun Tour

We were so excited that Anderson’s Bookshop was able to bring Renee back to Naperville for the release of Smoke in the Sun. If you all haven’t read Flame in the Mist yet…go read it immediately! And lucky for you, the next book is already out so you don’t have to suffer like I did and have to wait. I love getting to see Renee in person – she is so engaging and just a great person in general. Also, people who like to talk about food and books are my kind of people. If you haven’t had the opportunity to meet her yet, make sure you do!

ALA Annual Conference 2018

We had the opportunity to go to New Orleans this year for the ALA annual conference and we had a great time! Despite the humidity (seriously…), we were able to get out and wander a bit. Of course, we had to stop at Cafe du Mond for some beignets and despite everyone’s concerns, Jaime and I were able to successfully find food while we were there (we don’t eat fish or seafood…which had some concerned). Of course, we also had a great time visiting with the publishers, bloggers, and authors while we were there too – that included attending afternoon tea with Harlequin! We were lucky enough to get a lot of the books on our wish lists for this fall/winter and can’t wait to share our thoughts with you on them!
