Best Book Boyfriends of 2012

December 26, 2012 by Jaime 15 Comments

Today is all about the book boyfriends!!  I’m ending the year by featuring the top 10 of 2012 with the lovely ladies at Fiktshun, A Life Bound By Books, Confessions of a Bookaholic, Two Chicks on Books, and Magical Urban Fantasy Reads.  I’ll be listing my Top 10 Favorites all week long. (Please note I am out of order on this – This should actually be posted TOMORROW! LOL so I won’t match up with everyone else today/tomorrow… this is also why I don’t create posts ahead of time.)

BEST BOOK BOYFRIENDS OF 2012
Must be from a book released in 2012 and read in 2012
(In No Particular Order)

T.J. – I know you’re all like… but he’s a kid.. seriously, his growth in this book and watching him become the man that he does – totally swoony and he and Anna are so damn sweet.

“I’ve been in love with you for months. I’m telling you now because I think you love me too, Anna. You just don’t think you’re supposed to. You’ll tell me when you’re ready. I can’t wait.” I pulled her mouth down to mine and kissed her when it ended, I smiled and said, “Happy birthday.”

Jase – I have no words for this boy other than… HE’S MINE!!

“Um. So… are we going to study?”

Jase slides his thumbs behind my ears, rubbing the hollow at their base. He’s only inches from my face, still looking into my eyes. “You bet. I’m studying you.”

Lucas – you all know Lucas right? Drives a motorcycle, lip piercing tattoos and sexy as hell…

“So I don’t want to you to feel pressured. Or overpowered. But I do, absolutely, want to kiss you right now. Badly.” He trailed his finger over my jaw and down my throat, and then into his lap. I stared at him. Finally comprehending that he was waiting for a response, I said, “Okay.” —-As he leaned over me, I felt a heightened awareness of every part of my body that touched a part of his–the edge of his hip pressed to mine, his chest sliding against mine, his fingers tracing from wrists to forearms and then framing my face. He held me in place, lips near my ear. When he kissed the sensitive spot, my breath shuddered. “You’re so beautiful,” he whispered, moving his mouth to mine.

Augustus – I swear I wanted to put Gus into my pocket and carry him around.
“I fell in love the way you fall asleep: slowly, then all at once.”

Aiden – I’ve been cheering for Aiden from the very beginning and for us readers to finally get so much more from him in this book and Elixir and to see how he truly feels for Alex… and could he call her “agapi mou, zoi mou” more often because *sigh*

“I can’t keep pretending that I don’t want this – that I don’t want you. I can’t. Not after what happened to you. I thought… I thought I’d lost you, Alex, forever. And I would’ve lost everything. You are my everything.”

Josh Bennett – I love his strength and independence but when he finally caves to his feelings for Nastya – he’s so incredibly sweet with her.  “Not my fault that you’re distractingly pretty.” I have to take a minute to confirm to the pissed off part of my brain that still works that, yes, in fact, I did just say that.”

Jay –  I mean seriously… he leaves her notes on her pillow saying “I miss you like crazy.” sign me up for this boy because he’s seriously the sweetest and he adores Vi.

“I was just waiting for you to want me as much as I wanted you.” His words were quiet but carried one hell of an impact. “I knew we were going to be together; it was just a matter of time. I kept hoping that you would figure it out. But for a smart girl, you’re a little dense, Vi.”

Perry or Roar .. you pick!  These two have the best bromance in the land of books ever but they are both so incredibly sweet and romantic yet strong and determined. The perfect combination and if I was forced to choose between them, I’m not sure I could.

Perry: Perry held her against him. “I missed you,” he whispered in her ear. He couldn’t hold her close enough. “I should never have let you go. I missed you so much.” – Through the Ever Night

Roar: “Here, love.”

“I’m fine.”

“Well, I’m not. I’m scared. Take my hand?”

She humors me – I never fall – but I get what I want: her hand in mine. An excuse to feel a bit of her strength as we make our way down the hill. And a window into her thoughts.

Holder – Dean Holder is new to me… I’ve kinda been crushing on him for about a week now and I know you will too.   “Let me inform you of something,” he says in a low voice. “The moment my lips touch yours, it will be your first kiss. Because if you’ve never felt anything when someone’s kissed you, then no one’s ever really kissed you. Not the way I plan on kissing you.”

Four –  He’s smart and he’s strong and he adores Tris even when she does dumb stuff LOL what more could you want in a boyfriend?

“We’re all right, you know,’ he says quietly. ‘You and me. Okay?’ My chest aches, and I nod. ‘Nothing else is all right.’ His whisper tickles my cheek. ‘But we are.”

So there you have it… my top 10 book boyfriends of 2012 – what are your faves from this year??
