BEA WRAP UP – Part 3 – The Events!

June 13, 2014 by Jaime Leave a Comment

Hey Everyone!! As you all know, we were off in NYC enjoying the amazing city and sights as well as BEA (Book Expo of America in case you didn’t know)!  We will be doing a wrap-up podcast with our blogging BFF’s Swoony Boy Podcast, but we wanted to highlight what our trip was like before that goes up!  You can read all about our time in NYC and the places we visited and things we did in part 1 – The City And hopefully you saw our Part 2 Post – Where we highlighted the authors and the books! (If you didn’t, you’re missing out on an EPIC READS giveaway!)

Sadly, this is our final wrap-up post (aside from our upcoming podcast mentioned above that we’ll post soon) where we’ll be sharing the BEA details with you.  Today we’re going to tell you all about the parties we attended and the publishers we got to hang out with!

Our fun started on Wednesday!!

Wednesday:

We started our festivities with an invitation to The Woolworth Building where we were invited by the amazing team at Harlequin to attend their High Tea event.  If you didn’t see the amazing pictures of the building in our first post, please go back and look – while they don’t do the building justice they are definitely worth a view!  This event was so well done and we had the opportunity to chat with editors and marketing staff at Harlequin as well as mingle with authors and get some books signed (EEEEEEP Tiffany Reisz was there and she made my night!)

From there we headed over to the Epic Reads Event being held at the swanky Ainsworth Park.  It was really a wonderful event with opportunities to hang out and talk with so many other bloggers plus a bunch of Harper authors were there to celebrate with us too!  They had this awesome photobooth that we of course had to take advantage of! (see picture below!)

Thursday:
Thursday was a full day… We started out at the Javit’s early for the Harlequin Teen Blogger Breakfast – I love this event because not only do we get amazing swag (one of my favorite bags I picked up) but we get to have a relaxing breakfast with some amazing authors while chatting with them and the staff at Harlequin!  All that before we head upstairs and trudge around the Javits all day!!
Our second event of the day started later Thursday evening.  When the amazing Liza asked us for some help setting up for the #YAPARTY we knew we wanted to support her, so as soon as we finished our last scheduled stop for BEA we grabbed a limo (yes a limo – how else could we get 5 girls and 4 suitcases where we needed to be on time!) and headed over to help in any way we could!
You guys… Liza does an amazing job with this party and it’s seriously one of the highlights of our trip.  We get to hang out with bloggers and authors and publishers and just relax and enjoy the night.  It’s so much fun getting to meet the people we’ve worked with over the years from all over the place.

The rest of the weekend for us was party-less, but we were seriously beat after all this!  Did you go to BEA? Did you attend any events?? Let us know what you went to and how it was in the comments!
