Top Ten Books We’d Recommend To Someone looking To Read High Fantasy or Contemporary YA

Erin and I couldn’t decide on what we wanted to rec to people via this list – who do we make a list for… I suggested my BFF, but Erin said we’d never have enough books on that list… we thought maybe my mom, but I wasn’t feeling that one either! Instead we decided to do a 5 and 5 list – Erin’s going to rec 5 books to someone looking to get into the High Fantasy genre and I’m going to rec 5 book to someone looking for some excellent Contemporary YA!

Erin’s List

High Fantasy:

This genre has become one of my favorites and these books/series do not disappoint. If you have never read anything in this genre and you aren’t sure where to start, each of these would be a great introduction. All have great world building, some of my most favorite characters and wonderful stories. In each of these, you also get a swoony male character, which is always a plus in my opinion.

If you know me, I have a soft spot for Contemporary YA… I wasn’t always that way, it’s a genre I definitely grew in to. And now, the majority of my must reads fall into this genre. I know some people just don’t get into this genre… But I’ll tell you why I have found that I really love it. Many if not all of these books are stand-alone books … NO SERIES!! lol – If you’re like me, you have a million and one books that are series on your ‘To Be Read’ list and it’s nice to get a stand-alone once in a while!

AND BECAUSE I’M A CHEATER…. THERE ARE MORE THAN 5!!
