Review: Opal (Lux #3)

December 31, 2012 by Jaime 2 Comments

Opal (Lux, #3)Opal by Jennifer L. Armentrout
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4.5 stars

I love Daemon and Katy. Seriously.

Book 3 in the Lux series did not disappoint that’s for sure. From the get-go there is almost non-stop action and I loved it.

Opal picks up right where Onyx ended. If you haven’t read the first books… stop reading this review and go start. Dawson is back and determined to rescue Beth from the DOD. Dawson is angry and thankfully, Katy is the one who finally reaches him and makes a deal to get him to stop acting so recklessly. So, Daemon and Katy are going to find a way to get Beth back.

Enter Blake… you remember him. He’s the jerk from Onyx. Blake wants his friend Chris released as well, and he blackmails them in order to get them to cooperate with him.

Armentrout brought a lot of new stuff into this book, a new type of hybrid, Luc and the Opal stone but she gave us a lot of Katy and Daemon and it was wonderful to see the growth in Katy’s character. Not just in her strength, but in her maturity and selflessness. She’s bound and determined to protect those she loves, whether it’s Daemon, her mom, Dawson and Dee it doesn’t matter. She’ll sacrifice everything.

I really really adore the relationship that has been created between Daemon and Katy too… They love each other, and Daemon ever full of himself has jokes made at his expense, but he’s okay with that and even pokes fun at himself.

I closed my eyes, breathing in his warmth. “See, that’s possibly the stupidest thing you’ve ever said.”

“For real? I say a lot of stupid things.”

“I know. So that’s saying something.”

The end of this book is so intense and action packed that you won’t be able to put this down once you start it. I mean… OMG THAT ENDING!!!

I can’t recommend this series enough. Definitely on my must read shelf for good!
