So, it’s day 2 of the Book Blogging Challenge being hosted over at goodbooksandgoodwine.com and the topic is Bedtime Rituals. Jaime and I have similar habits…considering we live in the same house I suppose that isn’t a bad thing.

Jaime’s Bedtime Ritual:
After I finally get the mini monster to bed, I can relax for a bit… I usually start reading around 8:30, again it depends on how cooperative the child is being. But I’m definitely in bed reading around 10 pm. I plug in all the things, make sure I have everything I need ready to go for the next day, and grab my water bottle and settle in.
I almost always have a small stack of books next to my bed just in case what I’m currently reading loses my interest. I like to have options without having to get out of bed! Once I’m settled I usually read until I can’t keep my eyes open.. some nights that is 11 pm and other nights it’s 1 am. Just depends how engrossed in the story I am. I quite often play the ‘just one more chapter’ game and it gets me in trouble every time.
So there you have it… my night time reading rituals. Super exciting right? 🙂
Erin’s Bedtime Ritual:
Thankfully my process doesn’t include having to worry about the “mini monster” (to use Jaime’s words). Most nights I do end up staying up until about 10 pm. Once I have gone through the normal getting ready for bed stuff, I shut myself up in my bedroom, plug in the phone, turn on Friends and dive into whatever book I am currently reading.
I tend to have a few books going at one time (see our confessions) so depending on whatever my mood is, I will read until my eyes give up. I have been known to prop up the Nook and wake up with it still sitting propped up on my pillow where it was when I happened to fall asleep.
So what are your rituals? Tell us in the comments and let us know what you do!
