Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Most Anticipated Books For 2013

November 27, 2012 by Jaime 4 Comments

The lovely bloggers over at Broke and Bookish have a weekly list and I had the hardest time ever looking at my list for 2013 releases and picking just ten, because honestly… I want them all!! But here goes nothing!

Top Ten Most Anticipated Books for 2013
(in no particular order)
1. Scarlet by Marissa Meyer – Release date: February 5, 2013 This is the second book in the Lunar Chronicles series and I just finished Cinder and am dying for the next installment! Prince Kai, Cinder, an evil step-mother and the plague… I can’t wait to see what happens next! If you haven’t started this series get started!!
2. Through the Ever Night by Veronica Rossi – Release date: January 8, 2013 This is the second book in the Under the Never Sky series and I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this so I’ve read it, but  I still can’t wait for everyone else to read this!  Perry, Roar and Aria are back and I swear I couldn’t put this book down. Plus the sooner this one comes out… the sooner the next one comes out!  (just saying)

3. Breaking Point by Kristen Simmons – Release date: February 2, 2013 This is the second book in the Article 5 series and I’m dying dying dying to get my hands on this.  I swear I entered every single ARC giveaway contest only to walk away empty handed… which just means I want it even more!! I need more of Ember and Chase!

4. Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi – Release date: February 5, 2013 This is the second in the Shatter Me Series, and again, I was lucky enough to read this one already. All I can say is … holy crap – you must read this and then find me so that we can flail together.  Start reading this series now if you haven’t, You’ll be ready for Unravel Me once it comes out! (Destroy Me was incredible)

5.  Covet by Tracey Garvis Graves – Release date: September 3, 2013 Hey Look!! A stand alone book! LOL Actually I posted about this book a few weeks ago, in my Waiting on Wednesday post and I have to include it here. I absolutely fell in love with Tracey’s writing and storytelling in On the Island and I am chomping at the bit to get a hold of this one as well.

6.  Crash by Lisa McMann – Release date: January 8, 2013 It’s another stand alone book and ANOTHER one I featured on my Waiting on Wednesday post.  I adore Lisa McMann’s writing and her Dreamcatchers series is on my permanent favorites list which means I’m super excited for this new Visions series.  Go check out all her other books if you haven’t yet, that will keep you busy until this comes out in January!

7.  Just One Day by Gayle Forman – Release date: January 8, 2013 I loved If I Stay and Where She Went so I’m hoping that Gayle Forman’s new book Just One Day is just as wonderful.  “When sheltered American good girl Allyson “LuLu” Healey first meets laid-back Dutch actor Willem De Ruiter at an underground performance of Twelfth Night in England, there’s an undeniable spark.”  This will also have a part two titled Just One Year told from Willem’s POV! I can’t wait!!

8.  The Essence by Kimberly Derting – Release date: January 1, 2013 This is the second book in The Pledge series by Derting and I about died when I reached the last page of book 1 – I needed to know more, and I’ve been patiently waiting for this one to come out. Okay… maybe not so patiently! Go read book one now!

9.  The Madman’s Daughter by Megan Shepherd – Release date: January 29, 2013 I have to be honest, I have heard tons of good things about this book and it got me all excited. This probably isn’t my typical pick for a book to read, but I’m so intrigued by the summary I need to read it! London, 1894. Juliet Moreau has built a life for herself—working as a maid, attending church on Sundays, and trying not to think about the scandal that ruined her life. After all, no one ever proved the rumors about her father’s gruesome experiments. But when she learns her father is alive and continuing his work on a remote tropical island, she is determined to find out if the accusations were true. “  Make sure you put this one on your ‘to read’ list now!

10.  Dance of the Red Death by Bethany Griffin – Release date: April 23, 2013  I absolutely loved Masque of the Red Death and this is the second book in this series.  “Araby Worth’s city is being torn apart by death, disease, and corrupt forces wanting to claim it for their own. She has lost her home. Her best friend is dying. Her mother has been kidnapped. The boy who made her feel something again has betrayed her. And her father may be a murderer.”

Well – there you have it… I narrowed down my impossibly gross ‘to read’ list down to the ten I want most… though I’m sure if you ask me tomorrow this list would change!  Hopefully you agree with some of my picks and maybe you’ve found some new stuff for yourself!  Let me know what you’re waiting for most in 2013!
