Top Ten Tuesday: Let’s talk about other types of stories!

July 15, 2014 by Jaime Leave a Comment

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the awesome and wonderful people over at The Broke and The Bookish

We love to read, you know that about us… but it’s not often we get to talk about our other favorite kind of things… Today, we get to tell you about other kinds of stories we love that aren’t so much about reading!

Here are our all-time favorite TV Shows! The ones we will stop on every single time we see them on TV and can quote them at any time!

Veronica Mars – We were so excited when the movie came out this year because this was one of our favorite shows and we love that the end of the movie let things open for more….of everything!  Veronica is funny and sarcastic, the boys are hot (Logan), and the things that happen on the show are interesting and entertaining.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer – This show is one of my absolute favorites because it was probably one of my first paranormal shows I ever watched.  Joss Whedon is a genius and created these fantastic characters put in some pretty odd situations.  I can watch these shows over and over no matter how old they are…it just never gets old/boring.

Angel –  The only thing I will say here is:  David Boreanaz.

Scrubs – First, this show introduced us to Zach Braff…who we are (not so secretly) in love with. Second, with Turk and J.D. as the main characters, there was always something weird, silly, and/or funny going on.  Jaime and I tend to quote from this show routinely and a good majority of real life situations can always be referred back to Scrubs….always! (“So’s your face”, Waffletime, Steak Night, Brinner… the list goes onnnnn)

Friends – This is another show that if you are our age, you most likely have seen at least one episode.  I’m not ashamed to admit we have seen every episode…too many times to count.  It is funny to see the shows these days because they are a bit older but again, Jaime and I quote from this show all the time and there we reference from that show all the time.

Arrested Development – This show was hilarious.  One of the things I absolutely love about this show is that you can watch the episodes more than once and see something completely hilarious that you may have missed the first time because the comedy isn’t just in your face funny, there are also the hidden jokes.

So there you have it… our favorite TV shows – how about we throw in a couple movies to make it a full ten?

Indiana Jones 1-3 – I have crushed on Harrison Ford for my entire life. He could be my dad but I don’t even care.  I love that my kid adores these movies too – I actually have video of him reciting lines from the movie (it’s the cutest) and anytime this one is on TV we watch it even though we own all the DVD’s. (Let’s not discuss the Crystal Skulls)

Harry Potter – any of them.  I don’t know why, but I can sit and watch these movies repeatedly.  I love the world I love the story and Jake even enjoys them!

Tommy Boy – if you don’t love Tommy Boy, I don’t even know what to say… It’s Farley and Spade at their best and it’s so damn quoteable.

Dead Poet’s Society – Even though I never ever ever watch the end of this movie I love everything about it.  If I had to pick a movie that I have loved forever this would be it.  Do yourself a favor if you’ve never seen it and watch it.  Then watch it again.

There you have it!! Ten of our absolute favorites in TV and Movie Land!! What are yours? Do you agree with us on any of these? Let us know in the comments!
