Nicholas Arthur Frederick Edward Pembrook, Crowned Prince of Wessco, aka His Royal Hotness, is wickedly charming, devastatingly handsome, and unabashedly arrogant; hard not to be when people are constantly bowing down to you.

Then, one snowy night in Manhattan, the prince meets a dark haired beauty who doesn't bow down. Instead, she throws a pie in his face.

Nicholas wants to find out if she tastes as good as her pie, and this heir apparent is used to getting what he wants.

Dating a prince isn't what waitress Olivia Hammond ever imagined it would be.

There's a disapproving queen, a wildly inappropriate spare heir, relentless paparazzi, and brutal public scrutiny. While they've traded in horse drawn carriages for Rolls Royces, and haven't chopped anyone's head off lately, the royals are far from accepting of this commoner.

But to Olivia, Nicholas is worth it.

Nicholas grew up with the whole world watching, and now Marriage Watch is in full force. In the end, Nicholas has to decide who he is and, more importantly, who he wants to be: a King... or the man who gets to love Olivia forever.

Nicholas Arthur Frederick Edward Pembrook… Charming, arrogant, handsome … Prince of Wessco and next in line to the throne.

Olivia Hammond is just trying to keep the family coffee shop afloat when one snowy evening, Nicholas shows up. She doesn’t know who he is, only that he’s something of a jerk and instead of falling for his offer she throws a pie in his face.

Nicholas is enamored with the girl who doesn’t give in to his every whim and persistence finally pays off when she agrees to a date. But there is more working against these two then they could have ever imagined. Nick is only in NYC for the summer to keep an eye on his irresponsible brother Henry and bring him home, but when the time comes for them to head back to Wessco, Olivia and Nick can’t seem to say goodbye.

Oh… I didn’t mention that the Queen has decided that Nicholas must also choose a wife… and Olivia is not one of the names on the list no matter how deep they fall for each other.

I think what I love most about Emma Chase books is her male point of view writing… It all started with her Legal Briefs series and has continued here. Don’t get me wrong, her female characters are so fun and relatable and another reason I love her books, but the guys are just so wonderfully written, and there is no shortage of them here … from Nick to Simon to Henry I just liked them all so much!

Another thing Chase does incredibly well…. Building the connection between characters. I loved watching Nick and Olivia get to know each other and bond over shared loves and losses. These two have incredibly different lives they are leading, but they understand the stress and weight of responsibility they are carrying.

Oh and the sexy times… *fans self* I mean seriously these two were incredibly hot… and like bunnies but in a totally good way.

I can’t end this review without talking about Henry because he is such a wonderful part of this story too. The bond between Nick and Henry was just lovely and a great way to introduce us to him prior to his story coming in the second book in this series.

Of course there is drama… Olivia arrives in Wessco completely unprepared for the life of the royals… from the paparazzi to the public scrutiny to the bitchy ladies all vying for the attention of Prince Nicholas, she has a lot to learn, and thankfully she has the help of Simon’s wife Franny who I loved getting to know.

So everything is NOT smooth sailing and with the end of the summer coming quickly, and the end of their relationship on the horizon, they struggle to keep things on just the physical level and then comes the heartbreak…

But never fear! Chase will mend your broken heart and Prince Nicholas will make your heart melt and all becomes right with the world!

If you are a fan of fun, sexy, romance with some not so typical royal men this is the series for you! I absolutely loved Prince Nicholas and can’t wait to find out more about our bad boy Henry!
