Killer Instincts Series by Elle Kennedy

Series Review

How do you feel about really sexy men… and really strong kick-ass women?  Are you a fan? Because if you are, you definitely nee12368900d to be reading this series from Elle Kennedy.  My BFF, who I trust on all book choices (except the werewolves – sorry bff) has been telling me for quite some time that I needed to read these, and I was finally in the mood for some romantic suspense and thought what the hell.  Then Jess, amazing publicist extraordinaire saw that I wanted to read them and was amazing and sent them to me immediately!

I thought since I was reading 6 books in one fell swoop that I would just do one big review for all of them.15808436

Consistently the books were all four or five stars for me.  I found myself really enjoying each story more as the series went on.

Elle does steamy and sexy so wonderfully well, though the beginning books are a bit light on the action if you know what I mean, please don’t stop reading though because I think it was maybe book 3 or 4 where that seems to pick up.  That doesn’t mean there wasn’t any sexy times, the first books were just a little light when I compare it to some other romantic suspense stories that I’ve read and loved. The story lines in these are really well done as well… Lots of action and intrigue!

If you love manly, alpha men… then this series is definitely for you.  All the guys here work for Jim Morgan who runs a private security company. Think mercenaries for hire, but they are the good guys.  Most of them are ex-military so there’s that15812170 and is it sick that I wouldn’t mind a single one of them knocking on my door for an evening of fun?

The women of this series are just as kick-ass as the men.  They are an assortment of assassins, chameleons, & hackers, and their leader Noelle is the deadliest of them all.  If you enjoy strong women, all of whom you’d love to drink wine, talk guys and maybe hit the shooting range with, then you’re definitely going to enjoy these.

I’ll be honest, there is always a fine line when you have alpha guys in a series, and Kenn18141688edy does an amazing job of making her guys alpha but not in the alpha-hole sense.  More like you appreciate their protectiveness and muscles and brains… but more importantly you appreciate that these guys realize these ladies are in some situations stronger and tougher and smarter than them and they are totally okay with it.

And Kennedy does a great job of making you connect with each and every character… and then wait, wait, wait for whoever might be next in the series.  Can I just say all the Liam and Sully teasing that has been happening has me dying to get their story, and M/M really isn’t typically my bag.  But the way she’s got me invested in them and their story, I seriously can not wait to read m18141689ore.

If I had to pick a favorite of the six I’ve read, it would be book 5.  Jim and Noelle’s story was AMAZING.  I am a sucker for a love/hate relationship that is done well, and this one is done soooooo well.  And HOLY HOT.  So So So Good. That is all I’ll say about that.

In all seriousness, if you are a fan of romantic suspense, you absolutely should be read23398610ing this series.  Kennedy will have you invested in the stories from page 1 with fast-paced story-telling, action filled plotlines, and characters you will connect with and cheer for on every level.

Thank you Berkley for providing the copies for review.  This in no way impacted my review.
