It’s All About The Men of The Animal Magnetism Series!! Plus A Giveaway!

April 3, 2015 by Jaime Leave a Comment

So when the lovely Jess asked me if I wanted to be a part of a Jill Shalvis tribute post I couldn’t say yes fast enough.  If you follow me on any of my social media, you know that she’s my go-to for contemporary romance.  She’s on my auto-buy list and I wait very impatiently for each new release!  When I read her books I’m guaranteed a story with fun and relatable heroines, a light-hearted romance… and of course sexy, swoony guys.

Hell yes it is my friends!  If you like kissing books you MUST read Jill’s books – they’re the best of the best in the kissing genre! (I realize kissing is not a genre, but it totally should be.)

When Jess proceeded to tell me I could talk about one of the things I love most about her books, (I mean there is a TON of things to love in them, but everyone has a favorite thing!) you have know where my mind went immediately.

TO THE SEXY, SWOONY GUYS!

From my very first Jill Shalvis hero, Jax to the last one I’ve recently read, A.J. I’ve found it’s almost impossible to pick a favorite.   They all have their strengths and their weaknesses, they all have their differences, But Shalvis has managed to make me fall for each one for all kinds of different reasons!  So, I’m going to try and break down the men of the Animal Magnetism series and show you why they are all special and so damn sexy.

All of them are rugged and manly men … I mean, if you haven’t seen Jill’s daily writing inspiration post then you’re definitely missing out. (go follow her on facebook NOW)

He was built all big and rugged and tough. Great eyes, great smile, both of which advertised that he was up for anything, especially trouble. – Wyatt from Then Came You

photo large_zps6ddc13b2.gifSweet baby Jesus, he was built. As a teenager, he’d been lanky lean, almost too lean, though even back then the breadth of his shoulders had indicated he had more growing to do.

He’d come into that promise. He’d filled out in all the right places, leaving his body as good as a body could get, born from a life of outdoor, physical labor. Dark eyes, dark life. – Adam from Rescue My Heart

Some of them make me laugh, and let’s be honest, who doesn’t love a guy who can make her laugh?

 photo tumblr_lvbnm1n4Sj1qcc6r4_zpsfbe7bc77.gif“Was I loud?”
Wyatt leaned over her and kissed her worried mouth. “I don’t know.”
“How could you not know, you were right here.”
He grinned. “Well, the first time, your legs were around my ears so I couldn’t hear.” – Wyatt from Then Came You

“Duct tape and a Trojan,” he said. “Big plans for the day?”
“The Trojans built protective walls around their city,” she said. “Like condoms. That’s where the name Trojan comes from.” – Griffin from Rumor Has It

Every one of them almost always has a naughty side and what wonderful naughty sides they are.

photo 403974_orig_zpsfb6c5bae.gif“He choked out a laugh. Did you just say dick?”
“Would you rather I have said penis?”
“Actually,” he said. “I prefer cock.”  – Griffin from Rumor Has It

“Look,” she said, “apparently you bring out my inner slut. I’m not going to thank you for that.”
Wyatt smiled that sexy smile of his. “I could make you.” – Wyatt from Then Came You

They’re all animal lovers… I mean, this is probably a given because most of them work with animals in some respect or another, but do you know how sexy it is to see a guy bonding with an animal?

“Wyatt should’ve looked ridiculous sitting on the floor, leaning into the crate making kissykiss noises at the cat, but he didn’t. He looked … mouthwatering. “Hey, sweet thing,” he said in a low cajoling voice. “Come on out. I’m gonna love you up, I promise. You know you want some of that.” – Wyatt from Then Came You

Each and every one of her heroes are swoony.  Sure there may be a time or two where they do something stupid, but by the end of the book you will be wanting one of these guys for yourself!

photo anigif_enhanced-buzz-28338-1360290338-2_zps2aea24d9.gif“You’re right. I don’t need you,” he said. “I don’t need anyone.” He pulled the struggling, pissed-off woman in between his legs, waiting until her flashing eyes met his. “But I want you, Holly.  – Adam from Rescue My Heart

“Tell me you love me now.”  I love you now,” he said never taking his gaze from hers, giving her a promise, a vow.  Giving her everything she’d ever wanted.
“I love you always.” – Griffin from Rumor Has It

“Beneath her cheek, his heart was thumping steadily. Definitely faster than his usual near-hibernation beat. Lifting her head, she flashed him a tight smile. “I get to you.”
“Are you kidding? You own me,” he said, his voice running over her like silk.”  – Brady from Animal Magnetism
photo Copyoftumblr_inline_mfxdy37dlG1qjenjd_zpse8bcdf5a.gif“You went from worrying about being weak to wanting a fence with me?”
“I don’t give a flying fuck about being weak. You’re the only thing I care about. You make me whole. You make me feel. You make me…” He searched for the word. “Everything.” He pulled her tighter to him. “It’s always been you, Holly. And it always will be. Say yes.” –
Adam from Rescue My Heart

If these reasons aren’t enough to get you to pick up the Animal Magnetism series, (or anything she’s written for that matter) then I don’t know where I went wrong.  From Brady, to Dell, to Adam, to Griffin, to Wyatt, to A.J. you seriously can’t go wrong whichever book you grab first.  If you’re looking for light-hearted drama, sweet romance and sexy men… Shalvis is the author you want.

Darcy Stone is game for anything — except sexy Navy veteran and physical therapist A.J. Colten, the guy who’d rejected her when she’d needed him most. Now the shoe is on the other foot and he needs her to play nice and help him secure grants for his patients. Unfortunately, Darcy can’t refuse. She needs the money to fund her passion project: rescuing S&R dogs and placing them with emotionally wounded soldiers.

A.J. admits it — Darcy is irresistible. But he’s already been battle-scarred by a strong-willed, vivacious, adventurous woman like Darcy, and he’s not making the same mistake twice—until he and Darcy are forced to fake a relationship. Growing closer than they’d ever imagined possible, Darcy and AJ have to ask themselves: how much between them is pretend? What’s the real thing? And where does it go from here.
