Interview & Giveaway with the Amazing Jennifer Armentrout!

December 5, 2013 by Jaime Leave a Comment

I knew when I was making my wishlist of authors to include I wanted Jennifer Armentrout to be able to participate!  I’ve always been a fan of both her YA and her adult series and I even got to lead up #teamcam earlier this year.  I had the opportunity to meet her in person at ALA this year she’s so lovely and sweet!

I know how incredibly busy she is, I mean… have you seen her list of books she’s written and what she has coming up? I’m so very excited she was able to take the time out of her very busy schedule to answer some questions for us.  First how about a look at the list of Jennifer’s books…

 ABOUT JENNIFER

# 1 New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Jennifer L. Armentrout Lives in West Virginia.

All the rumors you heard about her state aren’t true.

Well, mostly. When she’s not hard at work writing, she spends her time, reading, working out, watching zombie movies, and pretending to write.

She is the author of the Covenant Series (Spencer Hill Press), the Lux Series (Entangled Teen), Don’t Look Back (Disney/Hyperion) and a yet untitled novel (Disney/Hyperion), and new YA paranormal series with Harlequin Teen.

Jennifer also writes New Adult and Adult romance under the pen name J. Lynn. The Gamble Brothers Series (Tempting the Best Man/Tempting the Player) and Wait for You. Under her pen name, she is published with Entangled Brazen and HarperCollins.

You are a writing machine… can you tell us a bit about what you have coming up?  I have several new releases over the next few months including Trust in Me, Be With Me, Tempting the Bodyguard, Bittersweet Love, White Hot Kiss and Sentinel.

Sentinel is the last book in the Covenant series and just came out in November, is it hard to let that series go?   I was excited to write the final book in the series because I wanted readers to know what happens with Alex’s story.  But, it was really bittersweet because Half-Blood was my first published book and I’ve always felt close to the series.

If you could introduce one of your characters to another character from another book, who would it be and why?  I would love to introduce Daemon from the Lux series to Roth from the Dark Elements series.   Daemon is a toned down version of Roth, so I think that would be an epic meeting.

You have created some memorable characters amongst your books, who was/is your favorite and why?  I don’t really have a favorite.  I’ve always liked Alex because she is so tough and snarky, but I can’t really choose one!

Do you have any writing quirks or rituals?  I can’t write with anyone in the room with me, even if the person isn’t talking to me.  I also like to write with the TV on a lot.

What is the one thing readers would be surprised to learn about you?  I love to visit historical sites.

You also write under the pseudonym J. Lynn.  Do you find one genre to write easier than another?  For me, I find contemporary to be a little easier to write than paranormal because there’s so much world building in paranormal books.  There are just a lot of elements that go into writing my paranormal books.

What books are on your currently reading shelf?  I’ve been so busy writing that I haven’t really gotten to read much lately, so my bookshelves are overflowing with books that I would like to read.

What is the last book that you recommended to someone?  I recommended the Kathleen Turner series by Tiffany Snow.

Any advice for aspiring writers?   You should write what you want to write, not what you feel like you need to write.

Do you read a lot and if so, what are some of your favorite books?  I try to read a lot, but I’m usually writing.  I love the Soul Screamers series by Rachel Vincent.

If you could have written any book out in the world today, what would you pick and why?  Actually, there isn’t a book that I would’ve liked to have written.

Do you have a dream cast for any of your books?  I’m terrible at answering this question.  I usually just let my readers make suggestions.  Some of the ideas are really good!
