At Boomerang, one night can change everything . . .Adam Blackwood has it all. At twenty-three he's fabulously wealthy, Ryan Gosling–hot, and at the top of his game in the business world. His life is perfect until a scandal from his past resurfaces and threatens to knock the tech wunderkind down and throw his company, Boomerang—a hook-up site for millennials—into chaos.Alison Quick, the twenty-one-year-old daughter of a business tycoon—and the ex-girlfriend of Boomerang's former intern, Ethan—has a problem of her own. After nearly flunking out in her senior year of college, she has one chance to redeem herself to her father by proving that she deserves a place in his corporate empire. That means spearheading her father's plan to sink big money into Adam's company and launch it into the stratosphere—provided Adam has no skeletons in his closet. When the two meet, their sizzling chemistry makes it tough to keep things strictly professional. But when Alison discovers Adam's secret, she knows she should bring it right to her father, who'll leverage it for his own gain and use it to ruin Adam. The only problem: she's falling for Adam—hard. Will earning her father's approval come at the price of losing her first real love? Or can Adam and Alison leave behind past mistakes and conquer the world—together?

If you’re a follower of us here then you know that the love I have for Veronica Rossi can’t be put into words… gifs aren’t even sufficient. So when she started writing New Adult, my heart exploded. Then I read Boomerang and I fell even more in love with her… but she has a partner in this endeavor, and together they make up the team Noelle August.

With Boomerang we met Ethan (SWOON) and Mia… and in that book we met a few secondary characters that I was so excited to find out would be our main characters in Rebound, book 2 in the companion series.

Adam Blackwood, founder of Boomerang, seems to have it all at the young age of 22. He’s wealthy and respected and really, really hot. Boomerang is his baby and he wants to see it thrive and get bigger and the only way to do that is to get investors.

Enter Alison Quick. You might know her as Ethan’s ex, but she’s more than that and it’s her goal to prove to her father that she belongs working right alongside him and she’s going to do that by giving him Adam Blackwood and his company Boomerang.

But as Alison makes her moves, Adam’s got some of his own. And when a secret Adam’s tried to keep for years makes its way to the surface and her father pushes her to exploit it, will she do what she has to to get the respect of her father, or will the feelings she’s started to have for Adam help her do the right thing.

I really enjoyed these two. To be honest they are an unlikely pair. I honestly didn’t think that August would go the route of letting the ex of Ethan get her happily ever after, and I didn’t love her after finding out her past with him, so when I started reading this book I wasn’t sure how I would feel. BUT I can tell you guys that I truly found that I had a soft spot for Alison!

I think that mainly had to do with what she had to deal with in the family department. Her father is a ginormous tool and every time he was on a page I just hated him more. So knowing what she has had to deal triggered those feelings of sympathy and yes… even a bit of understanding. And by the end of the book I found myself cheering for her!

Adam too, wasn’t really on my radar either. We saw bits and pieces of him in Boomerang … making Ethan and Mia date and pitting them against each other for the single position at the company, but it was nice to see there was more to him than that. His backstory though you guys… *wipes tears*.

As in Boomerang, Rossi & Oberweger have a wonderful way of telling the story. Each chapter is in an alternate point of view so you know what’s going on from both perspectives which is always nice, especially in romance. The evolution of the relationship itself is really well paced and I loved getting to know more about these two as they learned about each other and their chemistry was sooooo good!

Once again, these authors have knocked it out of the park with a new adult novel that has a little bit of everything but doesn’t bog you down with the super heavy, overly dramatic plot lines. That’s super hard to find these days so that makes me ecstatic to get to read more from these two and I hope there is a ton more to come.

Thank you to the author and William Morrow for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest thoughts!

About Noelle August

NOELLE AUGUST is an anagram for Veronica Rossi and Lorin Oberweger. Just kidding, it's a pen name!

VERONICA ROSSI is the author of the New York Times Best-selling UNDER THE NEVER SKY trilogy for young adults. The books are available in more than thirty countries and the film rights have been optioned by Warner Bros.

Veronica completed undergraduate studies at UCLA and lives in Northern California with her husband and two sons. She is fond of dresses with pockets, fluffy dogs, and cheese and chocolate -- but not together.

LORIN OBERWEGER began her storytelling career by captivating her first-grade class with tales of her summers on a kibbutz in Israel.

Lorin had never been to Israel.

While teacher/parent night put an end to her first experiments in fiction, she’d already caught the bug and eventually made a career of all things story.

As a long-time independent editor and story development guru, Lorin's client successes range from small press publications to major bestselling novels. She's an award-winning author and has also worked behind the scenes as a ghostwriter on a variety of projects. Her work has received starred Kirkus reviews and glowing mentions in The New York Times.

Oh, she did get to see a kibbutz, eventually, and found out she had it pretty much right all along.

Veronica and Lorin met at a writing workshop and just knew they were destined to create awesome things together.
