14 Days 0f final.png

Hi everyone!  Thank you so much for joining us for this fun blog hop!

We here at Fiction Fare with our loves over at Swoony Boys Podcast have been trying to think of a fun blog hop that we could host, and with Valentine’s Day around the corner, we knew exactly what we wanted to do… and so we’re bringing you 14 days of fun posts, a scavenger hunt and giveaways galore!

Make sure you visit all the blogs on the tour and check out what they’re writing out on their day, as well as enter their giveaway!

The scavenger hunt part of this adds more chances for you to enter to win! We’re offering a tourwide giveaway that will include a $20 amazon giftcard plus a bracelet featuring some of our favorite swoony books!

What you need to do is visit each blog and collect words.  Don’t worry they will be marked in some way to make it obvious that those are the words you need.  Because this hop ended up having more people interested than we were expecting we’ve split the two weeks into two different quotes!  All the blogs for the first week will make up one quote and all the blogs for the second week will make up a separate quote! Make sure you enter them in the rafflecopter at the end of the hop to get extra entries!

Now, make sure you head to all of these blogs for the fun!

So today, we’re talking about our favorite first kiss(es). Because if you know one thing about me, you know it’s that I can’t pick just one… So here goes!

“What am I doing here with you? I ask.

“What?”

“I hardly know you. You could be some serial killer, luring me out to a deserted lake.

Jase laughs and lies down on the dock on his back, folding his arms behind his head. “Nah, I’m not. And you can tell.”

“How can I tell?” I smile at him, lying down beside him, our hips nearly touching. “The whole happy-family-Mr.-Nice-Guy bit could be a cover.”

“NO, because of instinct. You can tell who to trust. People can, just like animals. We don’t listen as well as they do, always, but it’s still there. That prickling feeling when something’s not right. That calm feeling when it is.” His voice is low and husky in the darkness.

“Jase?”

“Mmm-hmm?” He lifts up on one elbow, his face barely visible in the twilight.

“You have to kiss me,” I find myself saying.

“Yeah.” He leans closer. “I do.

His lips, warm and soft, touch my forehead, then slide down my cheek, moving sideways to my mouth. His hand comes up to press the nape of my neck beneath my wet hair, just as mine slips to his back. His skin’s warm beneath the cool sheen of water, his muscles tight as he lies there, still balanced on one elbow. I curl in closer
She leaves and it’s just Xander and me standing side by side at the counter. His hip presses against my side as he reaches for a spoon. Then our hands brush as we reach for the same mug. We both pull back from it.

“Go ahead,” we say at the same time and then laugh.  He takes a sip of the hot chocolate and then slides the mug to me.

The entire sides of our bodies are touching – shoulders, elbows, hips, thighs – all the way down to our feet.  I can feel every tiny movement he makes.

“You’re killing me, ” he says breathlessly.

“I’m sorry.” I take one step away, and he grabs me by the elbow and swings me to face him. Now the entire fronts of our bodies are touching. I take a sharp breath as heat pours down me. He backs me up against the counter. His palm pressing into my lower back feels like it could singe a handprint onto my skin.

“I’m staring as hard as I can at the collar of his T-shirt.

“Caymen?”

“Yes?”

“You look terrified. Does this scare you?”

“More than anything.”

“Why?”

“Because I didn’t bring my mints.”

“And now the real answer…”

“Because I’m afraid that once you catch me, the game’s over.” I don’t believe I admitted that out loud to him when I hadn’t even admitted it to myself. But he called me out. He always calls me out.

His finger traces my cheekbone and my heart slams  into my rib cage as the nerves from my cheek all the way down my arms buzz to life.

“I didn’t realize we were playing a game,” he says.

I smile. That was the same line he had used during our second meeting.  I look at him, and as if that’s all he’d been waiting for, his lips meet mine. When they touch I feel electrified. He kisses me gently, his lips as warm as his hand.

Just when I’m about to go into attack mode, I hear Skye clear her throat and say, “I’m just going to take my hot chocolate to go, then. I’ll bring your mug back another time.”

I pull back and try to push Xander away, not wanting to be rude, but he doesn’t budge. Skye gives me the way to go smile and I realize she’s not offended at all.

“I’ll give her a ride home,” Xander says without looking away from me. His eyes are on fire. We both listen as Skye leaves the kitchen. Then he takes me by the waist and lifts me onto the counter. I wrap my legs and arms around him and press my lips to his. The action is more intense this time. My need more obvious.

He answers back, his tongue finding mine, his hands pulling me as close as possible. He tastes good, like salty chocolate. I let my hands explore his back through his T-shirt. I find his spine and outline each vertebra.

So … yeah… I adore Kasie West and Huntley Fitzpatrick  you guys.  If for some strange and odd reason you haven’t read these two books yet, make sure you do. I love the stories and the characters and of course … the kissing. MY FEELINGS!!!
